On March 28, the Ahlahasa staff conducted a survey that students took in English classes. The survey was voluntary and students were informed that their answers were not anonymous and could be used in the newspaper. There were 382 responses and the data for the article was pulled directly from that survey. ALHS administration provided additional data on fights and suspensions. The purpose of this survey was to gather insights into various aspects of the school’s culture, including but not limited to traditions, values, experiences and perspectives. The feedback provided a comprehensive picture of what it means to be a part of the ALHS community.

ALHS Celebrates 2024 Winterfest
Most of the players, organizers and volunteers who helped raise money for the Orrie Jirele Scholarship pose with his signature in the schools gym. The Night of Fun basketball fundraiser was on March 1st. Sophomores beat the Juniors 84-40. The staff pulled out a last minute win against the Seniors 52-51.

Senior Carly Stevens calls this art piece The Hummingbird. Her grandmother inspired her to make this since she loves hummingbirds. Once completing it I was glad I was able to make something that looked good, said Stevens It was a bit of a struggle to make because I had to make sure everything was in the right spot.

Hi everyone! My name is Abby Chalmers, and I'm the Ahlahasa editor for the 2021-2022 school year! I am a varsity soccer captain and the president of several clubs at the high school. After my senior year, I plan to attend college and major in English, education, and/or business.

I like all of the Donna and the Dynamos scenes, Cunningham said, referencing the numerous songs the trio sings together throughout the show. Katie, Morgan and I have such a great bond. This helps tie into how we play our characters.

Senior Maddie Schneider is a captain on the girls varsity soccer team with aspirations of playing college soccer. Before the season was halted, a college scout was planning on attending the Sept. 18 game against Owatonna to possibly recruit her. Missing the game against Owatonna will affect me because the scout was there to watch me play and see how I am as a player, Schneider said. If I met requirements, I would have a spot on that college team.

The scanners were installed as a safety precaution that was taken in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among the students and staff.
