When people used to say “high school goes by so fast, you blink and it’s over”, I used to bat my eyelashes hoping it would go by faster. But high school really does go by so fast. I thought high school was supposed to be like “High School Musical”. 

It’s not. 

I thought I would meet my Troy. I didn’t, but it’s okay. Throughout high school, I have made many friendships and lost many friendships. That’s the whole point of growing up though. Things change.

People change.

That is a beautiful thing. Change is hard to accept sometimes. I had a hard time finding my circle, scared of new things because I was so comfortable with what I was familiar with. It wasn’t until sophomore year when I truly found my group of friends. The more you step out of your comfort zone, you’ll realize that there’s so many things out there that are for you. High school has been a lot of weaving through different people, challenges and classes. All of those challenges have made me who I am today, and I am still growing. There’s a future version of you telling the story of how you overcame it all and came out on top, you will be okay.
