Senior year never feels like your last year; until the final days are here and it all hits you.
At the beginning of the year, you think you have all the time in the world to figure things out, do the things you’ve always wanted to do; that’s not what it feels like now that we’ve reached the end. Now, everything seems a little more real and I am wishing I slowed down and took everything in.
Over the years, I’ve learned that living in the moment is one of the best things you can do. It’s easy to want to rush everything to just say you got through it and especially when not everything is the best experience. High school wasn’t the best time I’ve had, and there were a lot of moments I just wanted to get over with. Even with that being the case a lot of the time. It’s small things that made the time worth it.
I’ve also realized how my perspective on important things has changed. Things that once were a big deal, now seem irrelevant. This just goes to show that everything will turn out just fine and not to waste my time worrying about it.
For a long time, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my future. My plans and even my dreams have changed more than I can count. In my final year of high school, I found what felt right—becoming a pilot. I am excited for what the future holds for me and where it will lead me.
Looking back at the time I’ve spent in school, I realized that even the parts I didn’t enjoy brought me where I am today. All the experiences I’ve had have shaped me into the person I am today. As this chapter in my life ends, I am excited to face new challenges and achieve my goals.
