Dear Editor,
I believe that seniors should get to choose their lunch, because some seniors can get stuck in the younger lunches. These lunches tend to be very loud, and with a lot of immature students. Because some seniors may not care what lunch they get, just being with friends makes them content with their assigned lunch. I just feel that senior privilege should include picking your lunch. It is very cool that we can leave for lunch.
On the other hand, some seniors might enjoy the lunches there in, or don’t really care which one they are assigned. Half of the seniors leave for lunch, so that could be why they don’t care. Some may also have family and friends at those lunches, making the argument 2 sided and different for everyone.
All of the pros and cons make this argument very controversial. Also the difficulty for the office letting each and every senior pick, could be very time consuming.
My view on the argument is that you should get to pick. Lunch can be boring from time to time, since I’m in lunch with younger grades. For my last year of high school, I’d like to have lunch with some more friends. Granted, I still have some friends in my lunch and people that look up to me. But I feel like the chance for another lunch should still be offered.
Therefore, seniors should be given a survey or something to see their views on assigned lunches. Lunch should also be a part of your senior privileges. Seniors down the road could also not be a fan of the lunch situation. So if they start doing surveys now, the complaints could lower in the future.
