The school gives a few art classes, Mixed Media, Drawing 1 and 2, Painting 1 and 2, and sculpture and ceramics. Students have this “road block” to continue into art with limited resources.
I am an art student that has wanted to continue with art, however the lack of resources leads to “not enough experience” and also being rejected from workplaces and colleges. There aren’t enough teachers to teach these students, or enough supplies. Supplies alone cost a lot of money. Some might say that the classes we have are enough for students to get their foot in the door. But I think that’s not true, even if you succeeded in all of these classes, colleges won’t reach out to you, they may not even think about accepting you at all.
Someone who wants enough education in the art department would agree that more classes should be available and easier to access so they can go to a good art school instead of taking the long route-a community college. If students continue to not get enough education then the art department will lessen and may even get rid of it entirely without trying.
