The Ahlahasa has had a long tradition of including comics within its pages, as evidenced by this nearly 90-year-old comic from 1937’s Volume 24, Issue 10. The school newspaper is not only a home for talented writers but talented artists as well. Nowadays, we have the comic strip Birdie & Lee, illustrated by the staff artist Ryoko Imperial. It chronicles the amusing adventures of ALHS’s tiger mascot, Lee, and their friend Birdie. Comics help bring life to our newspaper, so let’s hope that this old tradition continues long into the future.
