Boys’ Swim Hosts Faribault Falcons

Eighth-grader Brent Dahl swims the 100 meter butterfly.

Last Thursday the boys’ swim team hosted Faribault in the first meet of 2022. The team fell to the Falcons, 78-90, after a hard fought battle. 

Putting up points for the team were junior Pacey Brekke, junior captain Luke Wangsness, senior captain Jakob Malakowsky and eighth-grader Brent Dahl. Brekke took first in the 50 meter freestyle and 100 meter breaststroke with times of 00:26.72 and 01:18.40, respectively. Malakowsky swam and took first in the 500 meter freestyle with a time of 05:56.32. Dahl won the 100 meter butterfly, swimming a time of 00:26.72. In the 200 freestyle relay, Wangsness, Malakowsky, Dahl and Brekke took first with a time of 01:47.09.

The boys will be back in the pool at home when they host Rochester John Marshall at 6:30 p.m. this Thursday.
