Robot space aliens: Auto-tuning taking over the world

Robot+space+aliens%3A+Auto-tuning+taking+over+the+world

Okay, so there aren’t really robot space aliens taking over the world. But there is something else taking over our world, and the music industry. Auto-tuning. Which I guess you can call those who do nothing but use auto-tuning robot space aliens. That is what they sound like.
For those of you that do not know what auto-tuning is, it’s simply sound equipment to enhance voice pitch. Which is perfectly fine when you’re only correcting a simple pitch mistake. Everyone makes mistakes. But if your entire song is enhanced, maybe your musical career was the mistake.
My guess is most artists’ use auto-tuning to create the “futuristic” sound to go along with their “futuristic” beat. I wonder how they know it’s futuristic. Maybe these artist have time machines along with bad music careers. Who knows?
I’m nearly 100% sure that most, or at least half of the students here at Albert Lea High School have never heard of Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, or The Who. Musicians that have changed music forever. Musicians that have performed, and sang with their complete au natural voice. It’s difficult to find a good musician these days, but they are out there.
I guess the big question is, if you ran into Ke$ha, or even T-Pain on the street, and had them sing for you, no musical enhancements, would you find their voice appealing?
