Whenever I think of advisory, it brings me all the way back to Southwest Middle School. Every morning up until I started high school. In high school we would only have advisement whenever we needed it like for pep rallies, etc… Now that we have advisement everyday, it seems that the high school has changed.
Now even though we have advisement everyday, I don’t think it’s all bad. It gives me time to finish up some homework, or visit with some friends. It can get boring sometimes, but luckily my advisement teacher plans activities to keep us busy if we don’t have anything to do. We also have a special day on Fridays which we call Movie trailers Friday. It’s where we watch all the movie trailers of the movies coming out that weekend.
Now, I know that some people may think that advisement is pointless. Well I agree, but not completely. Some advisories just sit there and do nothing for 15 minutes. Otherwise we only hear announcements. Announcements are important but it shouldnt take the whole time. It’s basically just a class for announcements. I personally think that The Growl can easily tell us the announcements.
So what I am basically trying to say is I think that people may not want it, but hey, I guess that’s just what we have to deal with for right now. If you’re bored, get your advisement teacher to do activities. You have to go to it, so make it fun.
