CATaclysmic show choir used dance!

Pokémon have been popping up on the T shirts of many male students at Albert Lea High School. The
boys sporting this shirt are members of The CATaclysmic Show Choir. But why exactly are they wearing
Pokémon shirts?

This year the boys in CATaclysmic are performing to the first season of Pokémon’s theme song. The
uniform consists of a black T shirt that features the 2nd evolutions of the 2nd generation starts plus
Pikachu, and the hat they wear resembles ash’s first hat. The girls are performing to the Kim Possible
theme song. Numbers that the guys and girls will be performing together are Just Jump and Footloose.

Directed by Diane Heaney and Choreographed by Sarah Ann Polis, the CATaclysmic show choir is an
ensemble of people who combine choral singing with dance movements for competition. The people
involved in this are basically any guy that can shake a leg and junior, senior, and occasionally sophomore
girls. Tryouts are required of those who wish to participate. The other show choirs at Albert Lea High
School are Sass and Blue Skies.

Their next performance will be at Albert Lea High School in the auditorium for Parent’s Show Night.
Besides performing for fun, they also enter many competitions throughout the year and travel to other
cities to compete against other show choirs.

Students in CATaclysmic are excited about performing to the Pokémon theme.

“It is going to be epic,” Matt Attig, junior and member of CAT, said.
