4×4=12???

4x4=12???

Typically, one wouldn’t associate math or electronic music with a mouse. When it comes to Joel Zimmerman, better known as Deadmau5, that’s exactly what you get. Deadmau5, pronounced dead mouse, is the up and coming artist for electronic music. He’s already recorded several albums since his debut in 2006. His newest album, 4×4=12, will be released on Dec. 7. Fans can expect to hear some familiar tracks on 4×4=12. Several have been previously released, such as “Sofi Needs a Ladder.” As for other tracks, one could look forward to plenty of remixes, house tracks and trances. Deadmau5’ s best known piece is “Ghosts n’ Stuff.” The track is six minutes of pulsating house beats with some electronic sounding riffs thrown in. This style of music has slowly become less popular over the years, but many music critics are saying Deadmau5 is bringing back this subgenre between techno, electronic, and house. Deadmau5 keeps listeners guessing on what he will bring out next, almost like he is unwilling to stick to a single genre. Listeners get the feeling that’s how he wants it though. With 4×4=12 coming out in early Decembwer, everyone — from DJs to dance floor lovers — has something to look forward to. “I am really looking forward to the new album,” said junior Shelby Illg. “This album is going to be like nothing he has ever done before.” Whether or not you think mouse heads have anything to do with math or techno, Deadmau5 definitely brings these
