It’s Not a Break

Spring break is a time where students are supposed to be able to take a much needed break from school. However, this isn’t the case for everyone. While some students take trips and have a good time with friends and family, others use this time to put in more work hours at a job. Although I definitely did not work every day of the break, it still didn’t feel like much of a break. If it wasn’t work, it was rugby, and if it wasn’t rugby, it was helping out my family.
Most of my break consisted of random things, trying to keep myself occupied. As we all know there aren’t many things to do in town, it felt like I was doing almost the exact same things every day. One thing I enjoyed doing with my free time was watching the sunset. It felt as though the sky was extra pretty throughout this week. This activity is one of my favorites to do through the summer. I think it is relaxing.
Although I am not coming back to school with stories or a tan, I still had a good time. It was warm enough in town to be able to do things like walk the lake or even just sit outside without freezing. I won’t lie and say I am not jealous of the people that were able to travel for the week, but I was content where I was. I went to work and made some money for myself to spend, which I wouldn’t have been able to do if I was traveling.
I don’t think you have to travel to all these places to have a good time over the break. I think that even just taking a day out of the week where you have nothing to do feels refreshing and relaxing.
