From book to movie, the Twilight series has been taking over the minds of many teens and adults alike. The thought of vampires and werewolves brought a different and unique twist to the whole vampire theme in the movie and television world. Vampires were normally thought to have lived in complete darkness, in a coffin, and never be able to be seen In mirrors. They also were thought to have been able to be killed by a wooden stake stabbed through the heart.
Stephenie Meyer decided to add a little twist to the “vampire” theme. Meyer’s version of vampires doesn’t burst into flames; they simply “sparkle.” Vampires don’t sleep in a coffin, as a matter of fact they never sleep. Vampires can’t be killed by a wooden stake, they are nearly indestructible. Now as for werewolves, their appearance was close to a wolf, just much much larger. Sharp teeth, sharp claws, and unbearable speed. Eyesight like a hawk times two. These are just some of the many different characteristics that Meyer adds to vampires and werewolves in the Twilight series and makes it what it is today. Loved by many, and able to be loved by many in the future.
“I think that the Twilight series is unique compared to all of the old vampire stories,” said junior Kelly Schroeder. “That’s why people are so interested in it. It’s not old.”
Vampires don’t only exist in the Twilight series these days. It seems like Twilight has inspired many other shows to be made. There’s TV shows True Blood, Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf, and movies like Fright Night(the remake) and Daybreakers. There are many more movies and shows that have come out after Twilight. What makes movie producers want to make movies about vampires and werewolves now? Well maybe it’s just because of the surprising amount of money that The Twilight series has made.“Twilight is all anybody thinks about,” says junior Maddy Hundley. “Sometimes I wonder how people just decide to make a big deal out of vampires.”
What is it about the Twilight series that makes everyone so crazed and in love? Well, nobody knows for sure, but we can almost guarantee that Breaking Dawn Part 1 will leave fans thirsting for more.
The question is where will it end? Will Stephenie Meyer add more books to the Twilight series? Well, I guess that it is all left up to her, and what she thinks would be best. Hmmm? Maybe a story about the beautiful young, and smart daughter Renesmee Cullen and her newborn life: how Bella changes more throughout the years of her precious daughter growing up.
Not everybody may know much about Breaking Dawn or the whole Twilight series in fact. So these little spoilers help catch the grasp of what it’s all about. It may have some in shock, or nobody at all surprised. Fan or not, team Jacob or team Edward, get ready because here it comes.
