Janece Jeffrey is an English teacher at ALHS and if she could have any other career she would be a “professional beach bum.” She could sit on the beach and read for money. Her favorite book to read is “Wonder.” Jeffrey states that this is her “all-time” favorite book because she loves “the message in Wonder” and likes how the author told the story from multiple points of view. She got into reading because she “was shy as a young person and so reading was good entertainment.: She has been hooked on books ever since.
While she loves books, she doesn’t make general recommendations. “I like the individuality of it,” Jeffrey said. “When a student comes to me and then I ask them some questions to get to know what kind of books they like then recommending something.”
She also said that the English Department book recommendations are awesome.
