Small businesses are the type of thing that can help and support a town like Albert Lea, but it is hard to get anywhere when we aren’t helping them. I think it is time we make a difference in our small local businesses and help them out. 

In Albert Lea, local businesses are known not to last long. When we drive around Albert Lea we see one place close after another and don’t do anything about it. Local small businesses do great things like help innovation, create jobs, support our local economy, and so much more. There aren’t many small local businesses but the ones we have here are great, like the Homestead Boutique. 

I know some may say small businesses do not have the things you are looking for, but they really do. Local businesses have almost everything from clothes to food, but we just have to look hard enough. I understand that these businesses may have higher prices than say Walmart, but again, you have to think about all the things these small business owners are doing. They put in hours of non stop work just to provide different products for consumers like ourselves. 

Shopping locally is something we should all try to do once a week. Everyone can make a difference by shopping local, and anything helps.
