February fourth, 2016, two more of our Tiger seniors signed their letters of intent to compete in a sport at the college level. Jakob Kilby and Emmitt Stevens both signed forms to play football next fall. Kilby is headed to Bemidji State University, and Stevens is going to be playing at University of Minnesota Crookston.

Not only were family, friends, teammates, and administrators around for the special occasion, but both KIMT and KAAL news stations were present for the signing, and also got interviews from the two. But their families had plenty of pride for everyone.

“I’m proud of him, he’ll do well and work very very hard,” said Stevens’Signing mother, DeAnn Behncke as she watched him get interviewed by KAAL.

Just this year alone, there has been at least seven senior student athletes making the commitment to compete at the college level, a big deal for two of our 2015 football captains.

“It’s a great experience for him to go onto the next level, and he has worked so hard for it,” Kilby’s grandmother, Helen Hamberg commented.

And so, we wish our boys off, to play hard, and to represent their hometown well, as they surpass their time as a Tiger, and become Beavers, and Golden Eagles.
