A Great Day in Sports

November 12, 2015

Excitement was in the air this afternoon at ALHS as five Tigers signed letters of intent to their respective colleges. Alex Syverson, Anna Andersen, Jake Thompson, Lindsey Horejsi, and Parker Mullenbach sat together as they put ink to paper in front of a large crowd of family, coaches, and friends.

After visits to Occidental College in California, and Eastern Illinois University, Alex Syverson chose to stay in his home state for college. Syverson chose the University of St. Thomas for the location and to join a really good golf team. Syverson had plans to visit two other schools, but decided St. Thomas was the right fit for him. Syverson is most excited to play golf, and continue his learning  with a focus on Economics. Syverson is  most nervous about being away from his mom

Parker Mullenbach will be playing Baseball while studying engineering at Bethel University located in St. Paul.

“They offered me the best opportunity for schooling, the coach really liked me and I like the coach and the school.”

He’s most excited about the new opportunities to grow in his career but is worried about moving out on his own for the first time. Mullenbach visited two other colleges located in the cities, Augsburg College, and Hamline University, but they didn’t feel right for him.

Congratulations to all athletes who signed today. Your hard work will definitely pay off for you in your futures as college athletes.
