Eighth Graders Adapt to the High School

As students walk through the halls of ALHS they may notice an exciting buzz each year as a new group of eighth graders roam the halls. Students of the building may feel lost or confused, and the rush of people can be exhilarating yet terrifying at the same time. All older students have once walked in their shoes.

A few eighth graders shared their thoughts about the high school so far and what they hope for in the future.

Ashler Benda is involved in Football, golf, 4-h, Choir, Band and he wants to join Robotics this year. He also would like to be apart of Link Crew as a Junior or Senior.

Q: What do you like about the High School so far?

A: “The teachers are cool and the lunches are better.”

Alexa Christensen is on the Dance Team and wants to be apart of Student Council this coming school year. Alexa’s dream is to become captain of the Dance Team.

Q: How have you been treated by the upperclassmen?

A: “Really well, everyone is really nice here. It’s more fun and laid back than Southwest.”

Figure Skating, track and choir are a few places where you can see Tierney Murtaugh being involved.

Q: Who is your favorite teacher?

A: “Mr. Fiscus or Mrs. Bisson they are both really fun teachers.”

Travis Jensen is in 4-H, Tae Kwan Doe and Cross Country. He wants to be a farmer when he grows up.

Q: What do you like about ALHS?

A: “Seeing friends and having freedom between classes. I was homeschooled in middle school for two years, so it’s been interesting.”

This school year try to encourage someone to try something new, whether it’s a sport, a club, or music activity. Make each other feel appreciated and respected.
